Barbara, Siri Kirin Kaur, is Founder and Spiritual Director of The Innersanctuary Kundalini Yoga of CNY. She also hosts and administers KRI approved Kundalini Yoga Teacher Trainings, both Level 1 and Level 2 as taught by Yogi Bhajan.
Barbara holds a BS Degree in Holistic Healing and began her journey into healing arts after becoming a Reiki Master Teacher in 1998. In 2000 she became a registered hatha yoga teacher and member of the Yoga Alliance. She has studied yogic philosophy and various forms of hatha yoga including Kripalu and Vinyasa. She is also a certified Kundalini Teacher. She also obtained certification in Applied Meditation with Gurucharan, a direct disciple of Yogi Bhajan, the founder of Kundalini Yoga. She has also studied at Omega Institute and Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and became certified in Advanced Meditation Techiques.
To further her interest of integrating the mind and body, she obtained her New York State Massage License in 2000 and also became nationally certified. She is certified in Craniosacral Therapy, Reflexology, Thai Shiatsu and is a Registered Thai Bodyworker graduating from the Lotus Palm school of Toronto, Canada.
The highlight of Barbara's healing path and her journey to higher awareness came when she met her Teacher, His Eminence Shyalpa Rinpoche in 2000. Since that time, Barbara has been a student of the Nyingma Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism-Vajrayana Path and has been given the name 'Pema Dechen' meaning 'The Great Blissful Lotus'.
Her most recent undertaking is to delve deeper into the mind through the study of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan and is certified as a Spiritual Advisor. She was given the name 'Siri Kirin Kaur' meaning 'The Great Ray of Light'.
From her early years as a child on a small farm in upstate New York to her travels to India and Nepal she continues to develop keen insight into the human condition. Through her boundless loving energy and wisdom she enlivens those who come into contact with her.
