We live in a difficult age. There is constant distraction. In our 21st century culture of acquisition and consumerism, television, movies, newspapers, magazines, and books constantly fill our mind with stimulating images. Our minds constantly fantasize, and we spend much of our time living in our fantasies.
The most basic teaching of Raj Yoga is that the mind makes a powerful servant, but it makes a lousy master. When we let our mind roam free, it takes us wherever it wishes to go—and there's always someplace interesting to go!
Through the self-discipline of daily meditation we can train the mind, learn its habits, and be alert to its monkey nature. It's just like training a pet. You talk to your pets, don't you? You praise them when they do the right thing and scold them when they don't obey you. Do you talk to your own mind in the same way? Do you watch it and train it, or do you simply let it take you into its fantasies and desires?
Prosperity doesn't come by scheming and planning. It doesn't come by imagining or fantasizing. It comes by expanding ourselves beyond the limitations of the mind and letting the Universe work for us. Consciousness is infinite. The mind is limited. We are each a single computer on the God Network. Each computer is small, but the Network is huge! If we let the whole Network work for us, then we tap into Infinity and our desires are all pre-fulfilled. So learn to meditate. Master the tools of consciousness.
Put a leash on your mind and train it to serve you.
Guru Nanak was a great seer, saint, and mystic, centuries ahead of his time. He was a prolific poet and a unique singer, a prophet of peace, love, truth, and the Aquarian renaissance. He and his companion, Mardana, traveled on foot over thousands of miles to enlighten people with simple songs sung in ecstatic rhythm. His message of universal acceptance is as fresh and true today as it was then. In fact, he belongs to that category of transcendent human beings who are not limited by any particular sect, creed, or religion, but who belong to all of humanity. Listening to his words and songs we can all blossom into our own identity and remember who we are, just as his listeners did 500 years ago.
Guru Nanak is known as the Guru for the Aquarian Age. His timeless message is that God is a working God who works and breathes in us.

Conquer your own mind and be victorious in the world.
Fruitful are the lives of those who, following the voice of their own inner wisdom rather than the desires of their ego, have conquered their own minds.
They have won the game of life.
Joining with the company of people who work on themselves, my actions bring prosperity and the Lord of Light becomes my Husband.
One who conquers his mind is wealthy and prosperous.
One who conquers his mind lives gracefully. Without conquering your own mind, everything is dirty.
Without conquering your own mind, everything is a losing game.
